Electric shower installation is one of the most safety-critical electrical jobs in the home — it involves water and electricity in close proximity, requiring a dedicated circuit, correct RCD protection and compliance with Part P Building Regulations. ESI Electrical installs electric showers safely and correctly across Blackpool and Lancashire.
Every electric shower must have its own dedicated circuit from the consumer unit — it cannot share a circuit with other appliances. The circuit must be correctly sized for the shower's power rating (typically 8.5kW, 9.5kW or 10.5kW) and protected by an RCD or RCBO. We install the complete circuit from the consumer unit to the shower unit, including the correct cable size and protection.
Replacing an existing electric shower is straightforward if the existing circuit is correctly sized for the new unit. We check the existing circuit, replace the shower unit and test the installation. If the new shower has a higher power rating than the old one, we may need to upgrade the circuit — we'll advise on this when we quote.
Bathrooms have strict electrical safety zones defined in BS 7671. We ensure all electrical work in your bathroom complies with these zones — correct IP ratings for fittings, RCD protection for all circuits and correct bonding of metalwork. All bathroom electrical work is notifiable and will be certified.
Yes — every electric shower must have a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit. This is a legal requirement under BS 7671 and Part P Building Regulations. We install the complete dedicated circuit as part of every shower installation.

“Ethan has done a great job. He's fitted a new light and extractor fan in a new wet room. Quick work and no mess. We would highly recommend him for any electrical work. 5*”
