Faulty sockets and switches are among the most common electrical issues in Blackpool homes. Whether it's a dead socket, a sparking outlet, a switch that doesn't work or a socket that's been physically damaged, ESI Electrical repairs and replaces faulty sockets and switches across Blackpool and Lancashire — safely and to current wiring regulations.
A burnt or sparking socket is a serious safety issue that needs immediate attention. Burning or scorching around a socket indicates overheating — usually caused by a loose connection, an overloaded socket or a faulty socket mechanism. We replace the socket and inspect the wiring behind it to ensure the connection is sound and there's no damage to the cable.
A socket with no power is usually caused by a tripped MCB, a blown fuse in the socket itself (some sockets have internal fuses), a loose connection or a fault on the ring main. We diagnose the cause and restore power to the socket. If the socket is on a ring main with other dead sockets, we'll trace the fault back to its source.
Light switches fail over time — the mechanism wears out, connections loosen or the switch is physically damaged. We replace faulty switches with matching or upgraded alternatives. If you're replacing a switch, it's a great opportunity to upgrade to a designer range — brushed steel, chrome or black — which we can supply and fit at the same time.
Yes — a sparking socket indicates a loose connection or fault that is a fire and shock risk. Switch off the socket at the wall and don't use it until it's been repaired. Call us and we'll attend promptly.

“Ethan has done a great job. He's fitted a new light and extractor fan in a new wet room. Quick work and no mess. We would highly recommend him for any electrical work. 5*”
